Jaggi Vasudev also known as Sadhguru, is an Indian yogi, mystic and a philosopher.He is also the founder the Isha Foundation, a non-profit organization that offers Yoga programs and philosophical knowledge sharing programs to the people around the world and is involved in social service and awareness programs, education and environmental initiatives.Sadhguru is accepted and acknowledged by numbers of people for his great thinking of spirituality.He was born on 3 September 1957 (age 61) in Mysore,Karnatak,India from father Dr.Vasudev and mother Susheela Vasudeva. He was the youngest children in his family among 2 sons and 2 daughters.

 • In October 1997, after the death of his wife, a complaint was filed against him in Bangalore Police Station, accusing him of dowry harassment to his wife. Tamil media also tried to red flag Sadhguru for this reason.

• A petition was filed at district collectorate in Tamil Nadu to get help for saving two adult women abducted and imprisoned in Isha Yoga centre, Coimbatore.

• Environmentalists and many political leaders claimed that the Isha Yoga Center is situated on the forest land and encroaching the elephant corridor at Velliangiri Hills in the Western Ghats, lead to environmental damage and death of the elephants.


His family used to travel from place to place because of his father's post of Ophthalmologist.During this process 12 year young boy Sadhguru met Malladihalli Sri Raghavendra Swamiji who taught him  simple yogas and postures for meditation which became an unbreakable habit for him.
Talking about his own family he got in married relationship with Vijaykumari in the year 1984 and they bore a daughter named Radhe Jaggi in the year 1990. His wife Vijaykumari died in the year 1997.Sadhguru defines the cause of his wife's death as Mahasamadhi (the act of leaving one's body in a conscious way at an appropriate time.

He is also well established as a writer by writing and publishing over 50 books at different languages like English,Tamil,Hindi,Kannada,Telugu.This was his first Yoga experience but talking about his first Spiritual experience he claims that at the age of 25 on 23 September 1982, he rode up Chamundi Hill and sat on a rock and got spiritual knowledge. He describes his experience as follows:

"Till that moment in my life I always thought this is me and that's somebody else and something else. But for the first time I did not know which is me and which is not me. Suddenly, what was me was just all over the place. The very rock on which I was sitting, the air that I breathe, the very atmosphere around me, I had just exploded into everything. That sounds like utter insanity.This, I thought it lasted for ten to fifteen minutes but when I came back to my normal consciousness, it was about four-and-a-half-hours I was sitting there, fully conscious, eyes open, but time had just flipped. "

Then after the fluctuation in his life he established a non profit,non religious volunteer organization named as "The Isha Foundation" which organizes several Yoga programs and generate self awareness among people through talks in various conferences and seminars organized by his foundation. This organization also conducts various social service programs like river cleaning, afforestation programmes and other social awareness generating programs.
